DESCRIPTION: EPW - Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, mvt and dial marked for retailer John Brenner of Youngstown, Ohio, 54mm, 14K gold original Dueber HC for American market with exquisite engine turning and engraving detail, lower-central front and rear with unusual forward facing lion's heads, beautiful small lakeside home and sailboat scene to center rear, monogram initials to center front, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial with stylish Arabic hour numerals, SW-LS, lever escapement with moustache counterpoise, 16J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#293644. Gross weight of assembled watch 82.6 dwt (128.4 g). This example is highlighted by its exquisite gold hunting case, with its rear engraving being an interesting blend of tranquility and terror having an idyllic lakeside image immediately above a very serious and fierce looking lion glaring at the viewer.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running after a twist to start, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning of plates, scattered micro-fine scratches, regulator spring with micro-fine scratch striations likely from a past sanding to remove oxide; virtually flawless dial with few negligible micro-fine scratches; excellent hands, minute is a bit short and has some oxide and finish loss to its tip; case shows hardly any wear, no dents or dings, superb engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
